Xzibit – At The Speed Of Life

…sounds great. Definitely a song you should know. If you don’t have the album, I recommend you download this song (or buy the album). 10/10 Plastic Surgery – A song by the Golden State Project: Xzibit, Ras Kass And Saafir. It reminds me of “Just Maintain” a bit, but this is definitely better. The beat is basically the simplest thing you can think of, drums and baseline, but it sounds just perfect for this song. The song talks about how people stil… Continue reading

VA – Eastern Conference All-Stars 3

…hey showcase why on this track. The beat is centered around a heavy bass drum and a nice little vocal sample. Every member comes off nicely but Breezy Brewin takes the cake with a nice multi-syllable rhyme scheme and lines like “we weather whatever men, y’all wether or not to continue living given you’ll never have sex…with women” Rumble – High & Mighty A standard High & Mighty track, with some strings thrown in the mix giving the track a little o… Continue reading

Habitt – Talk Of The Town

…tight drum and bass based beat and it’s an other tight track from this album. 13. Come Get It feat Slim On this cut, I’d say the chorus is at the centre of attention. Don’t get me wrong; Habitt and fast female rapper Slim are doing tight verses, but when the hook kicks in you’ll have a hard time not singing along. The strong hook is what makes this track to be single material in my opinion. 14. Riders Riders is a rock influenced track with electr… Continue reading

Artifakt – Public Service Announcement

…olifical Endeavor(Feat Sense Wondah) Sense & Artifakt have really good chemistry. They should put out a duo album, I would most definitely like to hear that. Artifakt starts things out with a dope verse about speaking the truth. DJ Spyncere does the chorus by introducing the rappers. Sense is next with a pretty good verse. Yea, this was the goods. Good 9. Special Recruit Dark army type beat here. Pretty good choice here as it fits the song title a… Continue reading

Sense Wondah – Year Of The Wondah Mixtape

…off with a vicious verse. Nice chorus, it’s not simple but it’s not really complicated. Artifakt is another star, the guy is really good. I am digging this. DOPE! 11. Feel It(Feat Stryke) Slower paced beat here, but that doesn’t stop anyone here. Wondah starts it off with a good verse. Stryke rips the track here, he sounds like Prospect(From Terror Squad) and that’s not a bad thing. Great track. Good 12. Napolean Dynamite BEST TRACK ON THE ALBUM! Continue reading

C-Murder – TRUest Shit I Ever Said

…hard to flow over, but there is no improvement throughout the song. The album, almost completely playable all the way through, suffers from this song. 14.) Camoulflage and Murder feat. Mac, Curren$y: This song was released not too long ago by Curren$y, who jumped on the original C/Mac collaboration. The beat is shaky at times, but the song doesn’t dissapoint and it’s good to hear C and Mac on another song, because they never dissapointed in the pa… Continue reading

MC Paul Barman – Pallelujah

…ood 13. A Somewhat New Medium Not really a track, just one long outro as Barman says some funny stuff about “Parrot shit” over a pretty dope beat. I cannot rate this though.   All in all this gets a Good rating. You have to appreciate Barman’s humor to appreciate this album. Barman’s music is a guilty pleasure of mine. Some really Good tracks and one DOPE! track is not bad for his first full length album. Cop it only if you like Barman’s style or… Continue reading

Sticky Fingaz – [Blacktrash] The Autobiography of Kirk Jones

…k Jones robs someone looking for a drug deal. This track is another bit of comic relief to a album filled with a dark struggle. Hilarious lyrics and Eminem adlibs the chorus and background. One of the top tracks easily. 16. Sister I’m Sorry ft. Choclatt – Production: Big D Evans Kirk gets into big argument with his girl. After she makes a crack about his now dead brother he hits her. The track is very reminiscent of 2Pac’s “Keep Ya Head Up”. He ta… Continue reading
