Fredro Starr – Don’t get mad get money

Fredro Starr - Don't get mad get moneyI don’t know how ya’ll feel about Fredro Starr, but in my opinion he’s a tight rapper who dropped a supprisingly good debut album with “Firestarr”. I’m not expecting this album to be as good as that album, but hopefully it is!

1. Man up (Feat. Dirty, Get-inz & X-1)

Man up is a track with a funky up-tempo beat. Fredro Starr, Dirty, Get-inz and X-1 are all doing cool individual effort and the track as a whole is a nice cut to start off this album with.

2. Dangerous

The first thing that’s coming to my mind while listening to this is how great Fredro Starr is flowing to this beat. The beat is a nice, east coast style, thing. The only bad thing about the song is that it’s only about 2 minutes long.

3. California girls (Feat. Dirty & Get-inz)

Judging from the title of this track, you’d think it’d have west coast production… Well it’s not, which is too bad since I’d like to hear Fredro over some g-funk shit. Don’t think that I’m complaining tho – The production is tight. Fredro’s coming out raw and the two “guests” got one verse each where theyre doing a great job. The hook’s nice too.

4. Rambo

I’ve heard Fredro Starr showing that he can be really wack, but once again he’s showing that he’s got a really nice flow whenever he chooses to put his mind into it. This track sounds like the east coast version of “In da club” or something. Dr Dre with an east coast touch. Tight.

5. Finer things

“Finer things” is some weird ass beat with some kind of fleut over it… Sounds weird but I’m feelin it. I’m not feelin Fredro’s shit over it tho. It’s cool but I’d expect better from him over this kind of beats. Not one of my favourite tracks on the album. Once again the length of a track on this album is under 3 minutes…

6. Just like that

I had to listen to this track a few times before being able to say something about it. The production is some rock influenced stuff with a funky touch on it. Fredro Starr is spitting some cool shit with a raw but still calm voice-style. With a better chorus this one would be a banger.

7. Yo Mike (Skit)

8. Funtime

“Funtimeeeee in the city, rollin to the club where the girls look pretty”… This slow jam is starting off with its hook and it’s tight! After that, Fredro’s spitting some tight shit about partying and just having fun. The way this track is produced makes me think it’d be really tight to smoke to… oh wait… it is!

9. All out (Feat. Sticky Fingaz, Begetz & X-1)

Before ya’ll get started – this track is NOT biting 2pac’s “All out”. It’s not a diss track and it’s just called “All Out” because they say all-kinda-skit out. Like “hang out”, “blow out” “work out”, etc. A cool quote is: “Suge Knight over the terrace, you gonna hang out”. I’d call the production a renewed Wu Tang kind of production with a Roc-A-Fella touch over it.

10. Timberlands

“Timberlands” is a track with wack production and weak verses. I guess some people will love the production, but I’m not feeling it. It sounds like something DMX or P. Diddy would rap over, but it doesn’t fit Fredro Starr at all and you can tell when hearing him over it right here.

11. Where’s the love

This is some Roc-A-Fella wannabe type of shit and it’s wack. Fredro should never do a track like this ever again! I like the chorus tho and with Jay-Z on there this one could actually be tight. Fredro Starr, if you read this, please don’t give up your old taste in production. The message is very good but this is the wrong way to get it out there! People will skip to the next track before you get your message out there! It’s true tho, there’s no love out there…

12. Don’t get mad get money (Feat X-1)

This is more like it. Tight production with Fredro *****ing up the microphone and a tight ass chorus! X-1 has been coming out tight this far on the album, but they coulda kept him off this one… But in the words of Fredro Starr; Don’t get mad, get money!

13. Reaper’s anthem

“Reaper’s anthem” is some rock influenced heavy “Lord of the ring” shit. I guess Starr’s a lil DMX influenced with the “WHAAT”’s in the backround but this is still one of my favourite tracks off this album. One thing tho… it’s too short.

14. California girls (Remix)

This is a remix off of track number 3, “California girls”. The original was really tight, but I still have a hard time deciding which one I like better. Both are very tight.

I reviewed the Fredro Starr album titled “Firestarr” before, and I think I gave it 4 out of 5.

“Don’t get mad get money” isn’t as good as “Firestarr”, but it’s still a good album. Most tracks had a tight production and I usually like what Fredro’s spittin. He’s got a raw style and a tight flow. The guests of the albums all came out nice, even tho noone really outshined Fredro Starr. I’d say this album is gonna grow on me.

The only thing that’s annoying about this album is that most tracks are shorter than 3 minutes.

I rate this album 3.5 out of 5.

Snoop Dogg Presents Doggystyle Allstars – Welcome to the House Vol 1

Snoop Dogg Presents Doggystyle Allstars - Welcome to the House Vol 11. Intro – Snoop, Mac Minista – Production: Quaze

Just an intro to the album to a basketball theme.

2. Dogghouse America – Snoop, Soopafly, E White, Mr, Kane, Latoiya – Production: Quaze

E White comes out spitting over a tight beat that is good to ride to, E shows his skill early. Soopafly lays down a tight verse second with a nice flow, Latoiya kicks in and shows her amazing voice and sets the tone to the album with it’s laid back funk feeling. Snoop delivers a nice but short verse and flow. Kokane gives a good hook and chorus. Overall a tight song that demonstrates the entire label’s skill. The drawback is the song may go on a little too long.

3. Not Like It Was – Snoop, Soopafly, E White, RBX – Production: EZ Elpee

The first single from the album and possibly the best track on the album. It has a soulful beginning and the beat by Elpee kicks in and bounces nicely. Snoop delivers the first verse and doesn’t disappoint, he flows over the beat with classic Snoop skill. The chorus is something you can sing to. Soopafly drops the second verse and comes tight, then E White kicks in and once again shows why he may be the person to lead the next generation of the West. RBX’s gravely voice ends the song with a good appearance. Overall a great track.

4. Fallen Star – Latoiya Williams – Production: Michael Angelo

The album’s second single and it delivers everything. The production is off the hook. Latoiya sings with so much heart over the beat you can’t help but deny her talent. If she can deliver songs like this regularly she may live up to the hype of being the next Arethra Franklin. One of the best R&B songs I ever heard. Play this track for your girl and she’ll go crazy. Although a rap label, this may be Snoop’s diamond to bring the label to #1.

5. Doh Doh – Snoop, Soopafly, Mr. Kane, E White – Production: Hi Tek

While it may be annoying the first listen, the chorus really grows on you. The production is good and hard on the speakers. It’s a slower song but Snoop gives a nice verse with a good flow over the beat. Soopafly also delievers, E White again surprises with his abilities. While it isn’t a party song it’s a good kick back track that you can. One problem with the track is that it runs on way too long.

6. Doin It Big – E White, RBX – Production: Hi Tek

A tight beat layed down by Hi Tek, RBX ad libs over the beat while E White rhymes tight with a good back and forth flow with RBX. A simple chorus but it’s catchy as hell. It’s slower but it’s what you would expect from the West Coast with beats and flows. Overall a very tight track.

7. Nite L.O.C.s – Mr. Kane, Snoop – Production: Meech Wells

A faster beat that starts off with a Kokane giving his typical catchy hooks. It’s annoyingly gives a gangster flair to Corey Hart’s, yeah you read right, Corey Hart’s “Sunglasses At Night”. The track starts good and is good until that chorus. If you can ignore that, it’s a good cut.

8. Are You Ready!? – Soopafly – Production: Hi Tek

A much slower track with a repetitive chorus that is a little annoying, but without the chorus, Soopafly rips it over the beat. His lyrics are nice and his flow is good. Production is pretty shitty, makes you wish Soopafly would have saved his vocals for a cut produced by himself.

9. Hey You – Soopafly, Snoop, E White – Production: The Alchemist

Originally this was my favourite track on the album. The production is crazy, it’s slower but it suits the theme of the track. E White is mad tight over the beat and his lyrics are fire. The chorus is almost eerie feeling but it’s tight. Snoop and Soopafly drop verses that are off the chains. This track is straight fire.

10. Raised On The Side – Soopafly, Snoop, E White, Mr Kane, Daz – Production: Fredwreck

The production on this is tight but what else can you expect from Fredwreck? It’s has a catchy chorus laid down by Snoop, Kokane even comes tight on this but the best verse is surprisingly put down by Daz. One of the album’s best tracks.

11. Don’t Fight the Feelin – Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Camron, Lady May, Soopafly – Production: Meech Wells

Production is nice on this track and it suits another classic hook put down by Nate Dogg. Besides Nate Dogg, none of the appearances are anything special and it becomes a filler track.

12. Unfucwitable – Lady of Rage – Production: DJ Premier

Legendary producer DJ Premier lays down a pretty decent beat for Rage. Not his best work but it’s not bad. Rage shows she hasn’t lost a step since bouncing from Death Row and shows why she’s one of the best female rappers of all time. Good scratches in the beats. Not great but nothing to ***** about.

13. The Strong Will Eat the Weak – RBX, Mr. Kane, Snoop – Production: EP

A darker feeling to the track but it perfectly suits the voice and style of RBX. I love his verse on this, hard and dark. The chorus by Kokane is eerie in itself which goes perfectly with RBX, even Snoop lends to the style of the track. Very good track.

14. Just Get Carried Away – Reo Varnado, Snoop, Vinnie Bernard – Production: DJ Scratch

Good production and the hook is tight to go along with the lyrics laid down by Snoop, good flow and style. A more soulful track to the album but it’s pretty damn good.

15. It Feelz Good – Latoiya Williams – Production: Soopafly

While hiphop heads won’t really be feeling this track, women love this song. It’s deep and souful. Latoiya shows her ability to be the next big star in the music world. Soopafly gives some good production to the track. A very good song, but not what Snoop fans want to hear.

16. Don’t Make A Wrong Move – Mr. Kane, Special Ed, Snoop, Prodigy – Production: Nottz

The production of this is a more bouncy feel to it. Prodigy gives a good appearance to the album but his lyrics are almost too hard for the feel of the track. Weak chorus. Possibly the worst track on the album.

17. *****’s Treat – Soopafly, Latoiya Williams – Production: Soopafly

Soopafly gives some good production and flow to his shit on this. It’s a more sped up song but it’s pretty tight. Latoiya drops the chorus and doesn’t disappoint. Soopafly rips it pretty nice.

18. Trouble – Vinnie Bernard – Production: Vinnie Bernard

Snoop must have given this spot to Vinnie as a favour because it’s shit. This R&B track just doesn’t fit the album at all, the production isn’t too great. He has a decent voice but leave it off the next album.

19. Squeeze Play – Too Cool, Young Buc, J Dog, Snoop, Leicy Loc – Production: DJ Slip

Basically a preview of IV Life Records as most artists (minus Trey Deee, Crisstyle) are on this track. Production sounds like it should be on “The Wash” soundtrack, not that it’s bad. Everyone delivers some tight appearances and shows the potential IV Life Records has. The chorus is a little annoying but everyone’s verses make up for it. Includes one of the first Kurupt disses by a DPG artist.

20. Light That Shit Up – Snoop, RBX, Mr. Kane – Production: Hi Tek

The production on this isn’t as great as the rest of the album and it takes a while to get the track going. Snoop tries to give a chorus but he should quit that. RBX has a tight appearance. Despite how long it takes to get going, it isn’t a horrible track.

This album shows what a westcoast album should be. It doesn’t sound like WC rappers trying to flow over East beats. When a song is tight, it’s off the *****ing chains (Not Like It Was, Fallen Star, Raised on the Side, Hey You) and when a song is bad it isn’t as though it completely sucks.

Latoiya Williams shows her ability to be a huge star in the music world, E White shows his potential to lead the west back, Snoop doesn’t disappoint, Soopafly is tight on every track he does. It’s a good album to show the skills of the label’s lineup. At times a track runs too long because it’s like they wanted to get everyone on it, but overall it’s a tight album.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Drama – Causin Drama

Drama - Causin DramaDrama is a rapper from Georgia. His style is similar to Pastor Troy and Miracle.
This was his debut album and was released on Tight-4-Life.

1. Intro/ M.I.A

Just some boring talk.

2. Left, Right, Left

This is the big hit single from the album, this song made the album push over gold in sales. It was also the first song that I heard from him. The song is very good; it’s playable at any club. The hook is catchy as hell. Good choice for a single.

3. It’s drastic

When I heard this track I thought about the old No Limit. The track reminds me of that golden era No Limit had between 98-99. The way Drama is rapping on this track is very similar to the No Limit sound. The beat is just banging and his energy on the track makes you want to go up and do some real damage. I love the screaming in the background of the hook. This is a very tight track!

4. Double time (Drama`s Candence)

The bass is just incredible on the track and the rapping and the hook are nice too. You got to bump this one in the car because it’s a bass- banger.

5. The plot

Drama does some storytelling here. He does it very well over a tight beat. The track really impressed me; it’s rare to get a good story from an artist that spit with the crunk-style.

6. My name is Drama

This is the only song I didn’t felt that much. The beat and hook is way too simple. Makes it boring to listen to after a while. I usually skip it.

7. Let’s go to war

The hardest track on the album, Drama gets crunk as hell on this track. The energy here is just crazy. Its easily one of the tightest track on the album!

8. Mama, Mama

When I read the title, I thought that this was going to be some wack show some love to his mama type a song. I was right on one point the song is dedicated to his mother but it’s really good. The beat is tight, and even the hook is cool. I can really feel Drama’s deep heartfelt lyrics on this track.

9. I’m Ballin` Man

This is the only track were he talks about the “Bling Bling.” He does it over a nice beat that could do well in the club. I like his rap style even when he is bragging he does it raw with a tight crunk-style.

10. Sir, yes sir (Skit)

Just some talking

11. Left, Right, Left (Radio)

Same song with some edited lyrics.

Overall it’s an impressing debut album. He doesn’t have any features here so it’s really a solo album. The beats are good but could use some variation, most of the hooks are catchy and the lyrics are not that great but his energy and voice makes up for it. There are a few bad things on the album. One is that it should been more tracks. He should also have skipped the skits and the radio version on Left, Right, Left.

I give it 3 of 5

U.G.K – Side Hustles

U.G.K - Side HustlesThe Texas duo Bun-B and Pimp-C better known as U.G.K. or Under Ground Kingz is back with their fifth album Side Hustles. Side hustles is more like a compilation than a pure group album as the album has features on almost every single track. Side hustles hit the stores September 2002.

1. Belts to match (Featuring Smitty and Sonji)

If you like the unique U.G.K. sound you won’t be disappointed on this track. Alligator shoes with the belts to match are a part of the verse in others words a track in true pimp style. What more to say than a dope song.

2. Breakin sketti (Only Bun B Featuring Rob Jackson)

The beat on this track is bit darker and the first track and the lyrics are a bit more hardcore. Kentucky based Rob Jackson kicks some tight lyrics on the track. This track was also on released as a single from Rob Jackson. Overall a nice produced track.

3. They down with us (Featuring Scarface)

The track begins with a sample from an old school track after that Scarface drops some hardcore lyrics. The track is also on Scarface`s solo album “Last of a dying breed”.

4. Dirty dirty remix (Featuring Mil)

This track was taken from Philadelphia based rappers Mil’s debut album “Street Scriptures”. I can’t hate on this track even though it has an East Coast influenced beat.

5. The Corruptors Execution (Featuring B-Legit and E-40)

With bay area veterans B-Legit and E-40 this track can’t come wack. The Corruptors Execution was on the Corrupter movie soundtrack. The action movie featured actors Mark Wahlberg and Chow Yun Fat.

6. Pop the trunk (Featuring Celly Cel)

If you are a Celly Cel fan you will immediately recognize the beat on this track cause it’s in true Celly Cel style in other words a funky beat with heavy bass to back it up. This is not a bad track but not exactly a classic. You can also catch the track on Celly Cel’s solo album “G-filez” and on his best of album.

7. Cigarette (Featuring Too short, KB and Eightball)

I really like the lyrics on the track (it was only a cigarette I was smoking Mr Officer) All the rappers on the track come out tight. In other words another tight track, The track is also on Too Shorts compilation Nation wide ghetto bass.

8. We big mane (Only Bun-B Featuring Q and Marquaze)

This is another solid produced track. The lyrics on the track are about ballin and them trucks with them chromed out rims.

9. All about it (Only Pimp-C Featuring Too short)

Too short slow downs the tempo on the track the typical Too Short way. This track isn’t exactly my favourite on the album but I can’t say that it is wack because it isn’t. You can find this track on Too Short nationwide independences day.

10. The game (Only Bun-B Featuring Mil)

I had never heard Mil before but he got some skills and he doesn’t get less tight with Bun b on his side. Tight beat, tight lyrics = a tight tight track

11. Pocket full of stones (Pimp-C remix)

To me this track is ageless it was tight when it was on the Menace II Society soundtrack back in 92 and it’s tight now 2003. If you haven’t heard it check it, it’s a classic.

This album was a bit controversial because it had a lot off old tracks on it and people didn’t think that it would hit.
One reason that there were no new tracks on the album could be that Pimp-C was on lock down when the album dropped. Overall a really nice produced album with guest artists from all coasts, a no U.G.K. fan would probably rate this album 3, 5 but I am hooked on U.G.K. so Ill gives it a 4.

Blac Haze – So Much Drama

Blac Haze - So Much DramaYou probably heard the name Blac Haze before and you most likely associate the name with Tupac Shakur.
Ted Outler a.k.a. Blac Haze released his first solo album Res-Sa-Rec-Shun in 98 only two years after the passing of Tupac Shakur. You can say that Blac Haze took advantage of the Tupac media hype when he released his debut album.

I can imagine that many Tupac fans picked up Haze’s debut album just by seeing the album cover or by hearing his first single “Let me holla at cha”.
Blac Haze does not only sound like Pac he also looks a lot like Pac so you can guess what target group he concentrated he marketing to.
His second album “So much drama” hit the stores back in November 2002.

1. Intro (skit)

Blac haze kicks the album off with an 8 second intro. The only two words that were spoken in the intro was “Blac Haze” in other word a pretty cheap intro.

2. Get loose

The first real track on the album is simply a VIP Hennessey up in the club get them females track. I can’t say that I was impressed by the beat on this track. You can’t say that Blac Haze brings anything new to the table on the track. At most an average track.

3. Hustler

Blac Haze brings up the tempo on the track and raps about the hustler he is. In my opinion a much better produced track then track number 2.

4. Smoke tonight (Featuring Bibbcross and Blizzais)

I like this track a lot the beat is funky and the guest appearance by Bibbcross and Blizzais really spices up the track. The verse is dope and it’s about smoking and drinking.

5. Hoe shit (skit)

On this skit the second skit on the album is just about some talking nothing worth listening to.

6. Maybe it’s time

I love this track; the beat is more dope than 100% pure cocaine. The chick that does the hook got a really nice voice. The lyrics are about relationships and leaving your honey and moving on.

7. Straighten it out

This is a slow tempo mellow track. The beat is kind of nice but I wouldn’t exactly bump this one in the club.

8. Get dat money (Featuring Killa-fo)

Blac Haze puts it down for his hometown area code 305 Miami baby. The lyrics are like the track title says about getting dat bread or money. Overall a solid produced track.

9.D-low (Featuring Killa-fo)

Sometimes it scares me how much alike Blac Haze sounds like Tupac in certain situations. I wonder what Tupac would have thought about Blac Haze? Anyways Haze spits about keeping it on the downlow on the track.

10.The real Blac Haze (skit)

Just some talking over an answering machine

11. Can’t stand me (Featuring Randogg)

Surprisingly another well produced track from Blac Haze’s crew .Blac Haze raps about people hating on him and how they can’t stand a real pimp.

12.Tight work

I get an old-school feeling when I am listening to this track. The lyrics are about them females working and shaking that booty.

13. World full of killaz

On this track Haze sounds exactly like Tupac. The track sounds like a cheap duplicate of dear mama in other words not one of the albums highlights.Blac Haze should do his own thing and not try to copy Tupac style too much because he got skillz no doubt about that.

14. Get that fete. (Bonus track)

I don’t really get this track Haze have already done a get money track and on this track he does it again. I can’t complain about the synth beat on the track because it’s kind of tight.

I can say that I was positively surprised by this album. The only things that bothered my was the cheap skits/intros and how Haze on some tracks tries to copycat Tupac style.
Blac Hazes lyrics aren’t exactly deep but if you are looking for a party play in the club album check this one out. My verdict is 3 out of 5 stars

Dru Down – Gangsta Pimpin

Dru Down - Gangsta Pimpin1. Earhustlers

Good track and a nice way to start off the album. Dru Down basically talks about the people who spread rumors without checking the real source first. Good

2. Whatcha Speakin On?

Ok this is something really different because Dru Down is actually rappin semi fast and is makin a club hit. Not a bad track actually but not that good. Average

3. No Stopping My Hustle(Feat Luniz & Space Hog)

Very dope track, it’s nice to see The Luniz and Dru reunited(Though Yuk isn’t on the song). Space Hog raps first and does a pretty good job. Numskull does the second verse and does a pretty good job, but I’ve heard better from him. Dru Down does the third verse and rips it. Good

4. Gangstafied

Pretty basic average track, nothing special. Average

5. Pimp Of The Year 2(000)

Um ok this was on Pimpin Phernilia, why is this on here? This is some chopped up weirded out version(Not Dru’s voice, just the music in the background) Terrible version. Train Wreck

6. Jam On It(Feat Nitro)

Good track, probably my favorite song on this album. Just a feel good track and Nitro drops a tight verse. Good

7. Mo Guns(Feat Luniz)

Man Yuk’s verse is the only thing saving this track and it’s not even that good. Oh man and Numskull isn’t even on the track so stop teasing us with a full Luniz guest spot! Wack

8. Outstanding(Feat Sylk E Fyne & Joose)

BORING! Wack

9. Don’t Shoot Pimpin(Feat Suga Free & AMG)

Another boring track, I mean man these beats are really boring and the subject matter isn’t exactly ground breaking. Where’s songs like “Rescue 911”? Wack

10. Paper(Feat Da Products)

Average track nothing special Average.

11. I Rock

Nice track, I like the beginning alot. Good

12. Give It Up(Feat Bosko)

I love the beginning, Bosko sings a pretty good chorus. Dru flows well. Good

13. Wit It Wit It(Feat Mellowdramatic)

Man I’m getting sick of this album already. This track sucks. Train Wreck

14. Giving Up Nuthin(Feat Kurupt & Bad Azz)

UGH! Terrible track and Kurupt sounds like he doesn’t even want to be there. Instead of wasting an appearance on Kurupt and Bad Azz, why don’t you reunite with the Luniz and drop some heat(Both of them on the same track!) Bad Azz also sounds uninterested, and I don’t blame him. Train Wreck

15. Bloodsuckers

Well the beat sucks but you gotta give credit to Dru’s flow on this track. Average(For the flow!)

This album gets a Wack rating. Oh man he totally missed the ball with this one. There was hardly any promotion for this either(I don’t blame them, hell I wouldn’t even promote this garbage). Dru Down drops a boring album filled with tired beats and cliche’s. Avoid this album!

Dru Down – Pimpin Phernalia

Dru Down - Pimpin Phernalia1. The Pimp Hunters

Intro to the album and lemme say this, this is one strange intro.

2. I’m A Pimp

Beat suits Dru Down very well. You can probably guess what this song is about. Saucy track! Good

3. What’s Wrong

Me thinks they screwed up on the tracklisting, because this is supposed to be song 4 “I’m Ready” but whatever, I’ll review it as What’s Wrong. Great track, I like the girl singing the chorus though when she asks what’s goin through his brain it gets a little strange, but otherwise this is a Dru Down classic. DOPE!

4. I’m Ready

Ok here’s song 3 right here. Nice mobb style beat. Dru just rappin about he’s ready, and he’s back to rap(YES! Finally some motivation). Dope track. DOPE!

5. Life Story(Feat Johnny Atkins)

Saucy track! This is one smooth track, though not as smooth as his earlier stuff. Good

6. No Underwear(Feat Yukmouth & Enemy)

Yukmouth saying “No Panties” in the beginning is hilarious. Yukmouth straight rips the track, completely forgetting what the song is about and just going off(YUK OWNS!). Dru comes dope as well, but the chorus is so corny and stupid. Good

7. I Do(Feat Space)

Pretty dope song, but the beat is lacking something, it just sounds too country and twangy. Good

8. Tha Track

Just a skit.

9. Hey There, Hi There

Ugh this track is bad. I mean train wreck bad. Train Wreck.

10. You Know(Feat Pinky)

DOPE DOPE DOPE!!!! Man this track is smooth. Dru Down just rappin aboutt alkin to a girl. DOPE!

11. Ms. Freaky

The beginning is enough to make this a trainwreck….Oh wait it’s a skit(Thank Goodness it’s only about a minute long)

12. Nasty(Feat Boss)

Phatz Boss joins Dru on this track and this will be an interesting combo here. Dru Down comes with a pretty weak verse, Yuk does the chorus(Too bad he can’t do a verse and save this song). Phatz comes pretty tight. Average

13. Money(Feat Malikah & J Coleone)

Pretty dope song, nice bouncy Bay Area beat. Dru Down rips the track! DOPE!

14. Let’s Get High

The chorus is hilarious, because it sounds so innocent yet it’s about gettin high lol. Song is pretty bad. Train Wreck.

15. Make U Wanna

Now we’re gettin back to the good stuff. Very dope track. I love the chorus and the beat, it’s just so smooth and catchy. DOPE!

16.Things May Change

Man this cd tracklisting is screwed, there’s no number 16 to be found! Ok found it it’s actually number 17. Dope track, but is a little boring. Good

17. Lap Dance(Feat Sisco)

Yeesh! This has bad idea written all over it. Terrible track. Train Wreck

18. Convo w/ LiL Pimpydo

LOL! Oh man this is so stupid it’s not even funny….Well yes it is actually, because it’s so bizarre. Just a skit.

19. No. 2

OHHHBOOYYY!!!! PIMP OF THE YEAR 2!!!!!!! This is one smooth track, though not as good as the original this is still another dope track. DOPE!

All in all this is a Good album, though it has its problems. It’s still the same Dru Down. For already established Dru Down fans I say yea cop it, but for newer fans, why don’t you cop his first 2 albums before this one.

Yukmouth – United Ghettos Of America

Yukmouth - United ghettos of America1. La Costra Nostra(Feat Yukmouth & Daisey)

The beat really kills the song, Yuk spits flames but the beat is so wussy that it makes an “Enya” beat sound like a “DJ Premier” beat. Good(For the lyrics)

2. Dem Can’t Win(Feat Yukmouth, Tah Tah, Gangsta Girl)

Not feelin this track that much, the beat is just boring, and the chorus is terrible. Wack

3. Welcome 2 Da Bay(Feat Luniz, Mac Dre, & Messy Marv)

DOPE DOPE DOPE! This is a Bay Area anthem right here. Everyone comes tight and it’s always nice to see the Luniz reunite. DOPE!

4. I’m So Cool(Feat Yukmouth, Dru Down, LiL Ron, Richie Rich)

Saucy? I’d say so. Man the beat and the girl singin is just so relaxing. Dru Down’s verse is a little off but is still good. Good

5. Top Thugg(Feat Yukmouth)

Wow this is a train wreck for 2 reasons. 1. The beat sucks horribly and 2. Yukmouth doesn’t come tight. Train Wreck

6. Da Lot(Feat Monstah Ganjah, Nyce, & Yukmouth)

Well both Monstah Ganjah and Nyce are signed to Smoke Alot Records and Monstah sounds like a wacker version of Phatz Boss(I mean seriously why sign this guy when you got a doper Phatz already?), and Nyce sounds like Eve but a little better from what I’m hearing. Average

7. Desperado(Feat Yukmouth & Young Noble)

Man the chorus is corny. I’m not feeling Young Noble that much, but Yuk rips it. Average

8. No Way(Feat Numskull, Deidre Selene, & Yukmouth)

Well if you get rid of the girl singin the hook then this would be a classic Luniz track. Good(Had to minus points for the girl singin)

9. N Thugz We Trust(Feat Keak Da Sneak, Brotha Lynch Hung, & Yukmouth)

Wow I thought I’d never hear a wack Lynch beat, but I have and this beat is terrible and cheap sounding. Lynch has the first verse and rips it, Keak does the chorus and the second verse proclaiming himself the “Black Slim Shady” in which I just busted up laughing, and Yuk rips the last verse. Good(For the verses)

10. Fu*k Friends(Feat Yukmouth & Mac Minister)

DOPE DOPE DOPE! My favorite song on the album. EA Ski hooked up a very dope beat and on the first verse Yuk disses “Too Short”, then on the second verse he disses “Scarface”, and the final verse he disses “Master P”. He rips “Too Short” and “Master P” to shreds but doesn’t diss “Scarface” that well in my opinion. DOPE!

11. Gunz N Rosez(Feat Mac Dre, Yukmouth, Rida, & Bart)

Song is pretty good. Good

12. Neva(Feat Yukmouth, Dru Down, & Big Bear)

Pretty dope track, but seriously why is Big Bear on this track? Sure he does the chorus but ever since his album cover with all those bears on it I can’t take him seriously. Oh well Dru and Yuk rip it. Good

13. Datz Gangsta(Feat yukmouth, Monstah Ganjah, & Nyce)

DOPE DOPE DOPE! I love the beat and Yukmouth tears this track to shreds. Who cares about the other people on this track, it’s all about yukmouth. DOPE!

14. Money, Murder, & Sex(Feat Phatz Boss & Jazzie Pha)

Well you’d think this track is dope but actually it’s a train wreck. You wanna know why? Because they had Phatz and Jazzie on the same track and manage to screw it up. Train Wreck.

15. Dragon Style(Feat Daisey, Yukmouth, & Louie Loc)

Not bad, it’s all about lyrics on this one. Good

16. So Quick So Easy(Feat Numskull, Deidre Selene, & Yukmouth)

Ahhhh de ja vu and the girl still sucks at singing. This is one terrible track, Num sounds like he drank a six pack before he rapped on this track. Train Wreck.

17. We Getting It(Feat D-Don & Yukmouth)

WACK! WACK! WACK! Man what is with the first guy rapping? He makes Project Pat sound like Rakim. Train Wreck

18. United Ghetto’s Of America(Feat Outlawz, MC Eiht, C-Bo, Cold 187, Mad Lion, & Yukmouth)

Pretty good track, nice way to end the album. Good

All in all this is an Average album. If you’re a huge Luniz fan then cop this but if you’re not then stay away from this album.

Regime Presents: Thugg Lordz

Regime Presents: Thugg Lordz1. Regime Thugg Lordz(Feat C-Bo)

Nice piano beat. LiL Ki comes with a nice verse followed by Mad Max with a very dope verse(Of course!), and C-Bo with a very fast rapid good verse. Good

2. Hate Me Again(Feat Yukmouth)

Sadly this is the only Yuk appearance on the album. Beat is a little boring to me but they all step up and rip the track. Chorus is crap though. Good.

3. Whatcha Gonna Do(Feat Killa Tay)

Beat is pretty dope nothing special but it gets the job done. Killa Tay comes with the best verse I have ever heard from him(Man he just ripped it). Ki and Max rip it as well. Good

4. Time Of Day(Feat Steady Mobbin)

My favorite track on the album. Man this beat is nice and dark. Former No Limit Souljas Steady Mobbin join Ki and Max for this great track. LiL Ki starts it off with a good verse, then Max just rips it(I mean tears it to shreds). Steady Mobbin come dope as well. DOPE!

5. My Life’s Hard

More dark beats and I love it! But this is a dark bouncy beat(If there is such a thing). Everyone comes tight. DOPE!

6. The Best(Feat Phats Bossi)

Phats has the most consistent flow ever. I have never heard a weak verse from this guy and I can’t wait to hear a solo album from him. Beat is pretty average though and the chorus is laughable. But the rappers save this. Good(For the raps!)

7. Thuglord Religion

Decent piano beat but this song just bores me. I dunno it’s just too plain for me. Average

8. Fake *****es

Good track, I like the girl singing. Mad Max shines! Good

9. Thug Nigga

DOPE DOPE DOPE! That’s all I gotta say! DOPE!

10. My Life

ZZZZZZZZZZZ….Oh I’m sorry *Wipes eyes* *Hears track* *Gives it a Wack rating*. Wack

11. Try’n To Come Up

Very dope track, it’s got a nice laid back beat. DOPE!

12. Unstoppable

Nice mob style beat(With a guitar thrown in!), I actually like the chorus. Phats joins Mad Max and LiL Ki on this one. Good

13. Big Sh@#(Feat Killa Tay)

Pretty good track albeit a little boring. Good

14. Live In The Shoes

Good way to end the album. Good

I’m gonna give this album a Good rating. Mad Max really stepped up here, LiL Ki came tight but Mad Max showed heart. I say buy this album!

Sticky Fingaz – Decade

Sticky Fingaz - DecadeSticky Fingaz follow up album to his classic debut – Blacktrash.

1. Intro

a dedication by Sticky to his mentor Jam Master Jay along with Pac, BIG, Left Eye.

2. Let’s Do It ft. X1, Columbo

The computer voice in the background is crazy annoying. If it wasn’t for that, the production would be insane. It’s a slow flow by Sticky but it’s hard and dark. The chorus is simple but overshadowed by the robot voice ruining the track. Sticky’s brother X1 delivers a good appearance.

3. What U Here For ft. Omar Epps

Another slow flow by Sticky which goes nicely over the beat, which is very repetitive and simple. Not much to the production. The chorus is insanely bad. Omar Epps shows up again on Sticky’s album.

4. Can’t Call It

An Arabic sounding beat in the background but the profuction fails for the 3rd time in a row due to the constant repetitiveness of the bassline. The chorus is another downfall to the track. Overall not a very good track.

5. Hot Now

Another slow flow to Sticky in this track. His lyrics are good but there are points in the track where he’s interrupted and then the chorus kicks in which runs too long for such a simple and not very catchy hook.

6. I Love The Streetz ft. Omar Epps

A more westcoast sounding track and a good flow by Sticky in all verses he drops. The first track on the album worth replaying. It’s a little slow, but not bad, average.

7. Bad Guy ft. My Quan

The production is a little better on this track. It’s a little odd to hear Sticky collab with a R&B chorus. The flow isn’t too bad, the lyrics come nice. A good track to chill to.

8. Shot Up

Production on this track is dark and hard, something you’d hear in a movie which suits the lyrics and hardness to the track. His flow is nice and the track comes hard, even with the chorus. A tight track, more what you can expect from Sticky.

9. Girl

Why this track followed Shot Up is beyond me. The styles are totally different, and not in a good way. Production is horrid, and Sticky’s flow/lyrics are shit. The chorus is annoying. Horrible track.

10. Caught In Da Game

More singsong style to this track again, which just doesn’t work for Sticky. While his verses hit hard with good lyrics and a nice flow, production and chorus take this track down.

11. No More

Another R&B track but this time it works. Sticky gives a laid back flow that makes you listen to what he says in this relationship track. Production is smooth and laid back, decent track.

12. Do Da Damn Thing ft. Est, X1

Ahh man, the beginning of the track makes you think some hardcore grimey Onyx is about to hit, but you get let down quickly when it slows down and switches into some singing again. The verses are slow but not bad. The track isn’t bad but after the initial letdown, you can’t enjoy it.

13. Another Niguh

You know when someone hits numbers on their phone in your ear, that’s what the production sounds like. Irritating. Sticky does the best he can over the horid production and disguistingly annoying chorus. Bad track, skip it.

14. I Don’t Know ft. Fredro Starr

A Onyx reunion sampling a TV theme but it reminds you of JayZ’s Hard Knock Life with the children’s singing. A little too much and it ruins the track. Not very good.

15. Suicide Letter

Better production, dark and hard and Sticky delivers finally a track that you expect from him. Grimey as hell, the entire track is off the chains. Maybe it’s my headphones but the production seems a little too loud, but it’s bar far the best track on the album.

16. Just Like Us ft. Geneveese, X1

A slow track with grimey Sticky style lyrics, the production is good, it matches Sticky’s flow in the song. The chorus again is the downfall to the track.

17. Get Smashed Up ft. Tex and Thirty Seven OD

Song takes a while to get going but the production is banging, it’ll hit hard in your speakers and the verses roll nicely over the beats. Decent track.

After Sticky’s Blacktrash album a lot of fans were anxiously awaiting his follow up expecting another classic. But if you were to look up Sophomore Slump in the rap dictionary, expect to see this album’s cover as a diagram. After Blacktrash, rumours were that Dr. Dre was to overlook his second album and lay down the beats. Something you can only wish happened since the production on this album was horrible, plain horrible. The guest appearances were horrible, the choruses horrible, the attempts at R&B style tracks failed.
Sticky himself came decently with his flows but most of them were slow, laid back and not the hardcore grimey many fans come to expect. One word can sum this album up – disappointing. I don’t even want to get started on how bad it let me down. Hopefully the third installment will pick up, as a huge Sticky fan, I can only pray.
