Ghostface – The Pretty Toney Album

Ghostface - The Pretty Toney AlbumFormer Wu member Ghostface is back with his forth album, The Pretty Toney Album. After two dope album and the last being very disapointing he has alot on his plate for this record on a new label Def Jam. Since dropping the Killah from his name rumour started being told he had changed his production style too leaving the rza with only one slot.

1. Intro

This is a intro. Its him coming out a studio I think and the parazzi crowded around him asking about this record like the rumours and facts around this record.just a intro

2. Biscuits feat Trife (4.0)

This is dope. Its a great way to start the album. Over a soulful yet quite grimey beat made out of a mixture of a piano loop, bass and another thing, Ghostface spits some dope lyrics about things like the hood, violence and makes some iraq reference giving a quite policitial feel. Also his normal slang filled lyrics. But really Trife takes the light on this one line really. He spits “People ask me why i use the clock/Coz its 2004 I refuse to box” He then goes on to spit about robbing then about violence generally. The only flaw is the hook. It’s quite annoying, sung by Ghostface.Him and Trife flow well and as usual shows his usual unique personalitly.

3.Kunta Fly Shit (3.0)

Like the name this is weird. To tell the truth i never really felt this one. The beat is slow and simple. A Really heavy bass with a drum loop. Its about 1 min long and its sounds like a freestyle or a sit or even a interlude im not sure. He flows really slow and not very well.i skip this one

4.Beat the Clock (4/5)

This is good. A really uptempo, energetic track filled with sirens but is missing bass i think. Theres some sort of idea which i dont get. He says something about beating a clock and trying something new and someone (or ghost) telling him hes cheating and stuff. This beat sounds fimiliar. Solid lyricism and ghosts flows really well.

5.Metal Lungies Ft Sheek + Styles P (4.5/5)

This beat is still yet grimey. This is quite a slow track but works. Dont know much to say about this one. It’s featuring the two of the lox’s members and the topic is around gunplay. Ghosts keeps his solid lyricism. Styles P’s first few bars are weird but recovers. Sheek Ends this off. Not much to say about this except good

6.Bathtub

This is a skit. Isnt this just snoops doggystyle intro but with ghost

7.Save me dear (4/5)

A 50’s Soul sample based track. While the sample is played over Ghost flows really energetic over this one while the beats make up the rest of the beat really. This a love song really but ghost can pull this off with out being too corny.Solid lyricism.

8.It’s Over (5/5)

This is dope. This is a Nice storytelling story about Ghost being caught cheating by another bird to show more of Ghost’s skill. Solid lyricism. The Beat is real nice. A Dope piano over the nicely timed drum beat. In the middle it changes to another soul sample and changes the beat a bit by leaving out the keyboard. Nicely put together.

9.Keisha’s House Skit

Just one of those being ***** whipped skits by his bird. Some ***** complaining with a even more annoying voices. Ghost spits some stuff but not worth to be counted as a song.

10 Tush Feat Missy(2.0.)

This is clearly the worse song on this good new album. The mainstream really *****ed this song. The beat sucks. But the lyrics which really suck like any sh!tty club song. Missy delivers a alright hook bearable at the best of times. Then if this couldnt get worse Missy drops a verse. Typicial move that ass baby

11.Last Night Skit

ARRRH!!! Another skit.

12.Holla (4.0)

This is nice. A 70’s soul sampled based track feels really mellow and calm.Ghost’s lyricism is about the good old times.Solid lyricism. Undoubtedly, very few emcees have the personality or character to create something like this.

13. Ghostface.(3.0)

This beat reminds me of a superhero or more specific, flash gordon theme tune the way the women sing ‘Ghostface’. The beat is alright the beeping also reminds me of morse code. Ghost doesnt flow well on this one. Ghost’s lyrics are alright. I dont like the way he flows on this.pretty plain

14.Be This Way (4.5/5)

This song is underrated on this album. This is another soul (prob 50 or 60’s) based sampled song with a nice drum beat over it.Ghost’s lyrics are dope as usual. Flow real nice.Very nice

15. The letter Skit!

Wtf is this skit

16. Tooken Back Ft Jackie-o (3.5)

I dont like this as much as the other ones. The topic is relatable, when relationships break down. A alright story telling track. The beat is bad on this and would have been better. They flow well but it’s just plain.

17.Run (5/5)

This is dope. This is easily my fave track and proberly because RZA produced it.The lyrics are dope. A Storytelling track of the artist’s running away from the police. they paint a clear picture of the scenerio. The hook is catchy as well. They both drop dope verses. they flow really well but Ghost comes off better esecially with his energetic and quite paranoid delivery. The beat is made up of drums, violens and bass perfectly put together.

18 Love Ft K.Fox + Musiq (4/5)

This is nice, very gospel like. The beat is a slow tempo mellow and heartfelt and he flows over it with a slow pased flow. He spits a heartfelt things wjhich he loves (people, family, events)Nice way to finish the album but i wouldnt have picked this one to end it.

Overall this gets a 4/5

This was one of ’04 best albums released but ’04 wasnt a good year for hip-hop. The production is new and risky for Wu fans as this aint the typical wu album. really its got only 2 tracks by RZA and no wu guest appearance. Ghostface shows skill as his adpated to a new type of cd. Tight lyrics like on all of ghostface albums and only one terrible songs. There is too many skits and that is another flaw on this great album. Ghost has more character then a person with multi-personalitly syndrome. Many heartfelt tracks.

Recommendation

Buy this album!! One of the best albums in ’04 You wont like this as much if you a wu member still stuck in the typical way. If you want a Ghost album tho i would pick Surpreme Clientele. Dope production nearly flawless.Ironman was pretty dope aswell i would buy that aswell if you like ghost. Bulletproof Wallets Sucked Bad.

Kool G Rap – 4,5,6

Kool G Rap - 4,5,61. Intro

Just an intro.

2. 4,5,6

Really dark beat by Dr. Butcher, uses samples from “NY State Of Mind” and “Mysterious Traveler” so you know this is going to be a great track. G Rap proves why he’s one of the best as he flows through the track like a hungry Tiger looking for prey. Great chorus here, it’s simple but it works. Great track. Good

3. It’s A Shame

Slower pace on this track, nice beat by Naughty Shorts, has a funkish feel to it. G Rap rips the track as usual and Sean Brown sings the chorus. Great track. Good

4. Take ‘Em To War(Feat Grimm & B-1)

MF GRIMM!!!! is featured on this track and he starts it off with a vicious verse, man Grimm is great. Great beat by T-Ray, pretty dark feel to it. B-1 has the next verse and it’s really good, he manages to outshine Grimm. G Rap has the last verse and he outshines both of them. You need to hear this track. DOPE!

5. Executioner Style

DOPE!!!! Dr. Butcher produces a very dark/eerie beat, has a grimey NY feel to it. G Rap just kills this track, he uses so many multi’s and has great wordplay on this track, just insane! Chorus is very dark and really good. You also need to hear this track. DOPE!

6. For Da Brothaz

T-Ray produces the beat and it’s really good, it’s mellow and has some nice horns added to it. G Rap raps about the streets. G Rap is really an overlooked story teller, another underrated story teller is Masta Ace but that’s another subject. Great chorus as the horns get involved. Dope track. DOPE!

7. Blowin’ Up In The World

Buckwild produces the beat and he uses the “What You Won’t Do For Love” beat, very dope and G Rap sounds great over it. The chorus is simple but it works oh so well. One of my favorite G Rap tracks. DOPE!

8. Fast Life(Feat Nas)

I do not like this track, the beat is not good(Produced by Buckwild), it just has no kick to it and for a Nas & G Rap collabo, it’s really disappointing. G Rap does a good job and so does Nas but man the beat is terrible. Wack

9. Ghetto Knows

Naughty Shorts produces a pretty good beat, has a dark piano feel to it, also has a grimey NY feel to it. G Rap of course rips it. I like how the beat changes during the chorus. Good

10. It’s A Shame(Da Butcher’s Mix)

Same lyrics but with a better beat, nice and bouncy. DOPE!

11. Money On The Brain(Feat B-1 & Grimm)

B-1 & Grimm join G Rap again, nice beat by Dr. Butcher, it has a more fun type sound to it, it’s not dark at all. B-1 starts it off with a good verse. Grimm does the chorus, a little awkward but still good. Grimm with the second verse, man it’s a shame how much Grimm is slept on, in his prime I’d say he was better than Nas. G Rap with the last verse and of course he rips it. Great track. DOPE!

All in all this gets a Good rating. Very good album by Kool G Rap, this was a very dark album, very hard hitting. G Rap is a legend and this album should be heard….COP IT!

Necro – I Need Drugs

Necro - I Need DrugsComing from N.Y. A new Rapper/Producer merged in 2000. The album was of the Horrorcore genre. The album was solo produced by one man and was highly different from anything ever heard before. His name was Necro. Producing the most dark and eerie beats you ever likely to hear for his indy company Pyscho+logical- .

1.The Most Sadistic Featuring Ill Bill

This one features his reallife brother Ill Bill. The beat is good. It’s a bass based track with a few keys in there of some sort. The lyrics are good and are really about people trying to take them on and how ruthless they are. They flow well especially necro. The hook is alright (4/5)

2.Hoe Blow

A really eerie organ with bass and drum nicely put together. His lyrics are about sex. Yes i know before you start yawning this is new compared to people like cam’ron. Necro can pull this off as he doesn’t care about pleasing the ladies. His sexpet type of stuff. He gets his ***** if they want to give it or not and leaves. This track he slows down his flow to a really calm (for necro) and he sounds like his talking to a women. The hook is catchy and simple. (4/5)

3.I Need Drugs

This is dope. This is the title track of the song. Using the beat from LL cool J’s I Need Love which in my opinion was bad Necro changes this into a storytelling type of track about a junkie and his addiction and how his moral have lowered due to his addictions. Necro can relate as his uncle (howie) is a crackhead and is on the cover. This shows skill as he can do a storytelling track. Also he makes a dead terrible song into a classic. His flow is like LL’s to add to the mockery. This is humerous stuff in hip-hop on a whole different level. (5/5)

4. Your *****in Head Split

This is good too. Necro is really good with his basslines and is nicely put together with a guitar i believe. His lyrics are the usual Necro horrorcore sick lyrics, His flow on this is more more energetic and aggresive. The hook is quite catchy (4/5)

5.You’re Dead Feat Ill Bill

This is dope. This again is featuring the underrated Ill Bill. If you dont think he is then after listenng to this you will. The beat is alright.Hard to explain but ain’t as good as the last havebeen. Really quite simple but works. Necro Verse is good and he flows pretty well. The hook is really simple. Alright so how can a standard verse beat and hook equal a 5. Well its Ill Bill my friend. Ill bills Verse is dope as *****. His Flow to begin with is insanely Crazy! The lyrics too are dope. (5/5)

6.Get On Your Knees

This is dope. Using a sample of Dionne Warwick.. Like I need drugs he changes an innocent song into something preverted which dont get me wrong that is dope!. The lyrics are he sexpert type of stuff(perverted type) or his pornography. The lyrics are clever. The beat is good aswell. Its a more upbeat then the rest. He flows nice to this one. (5/5)

7. Rugged Shit

This is great. There is a really dark bass and beat and some piano loop. Also theres a weird trumpet type of thing which is occasionaly played. Real nice but too wutangish and i like necro for his orignality, The lyrics are you guess it, Rugged Shit. His flow works with the beat which is slower than most of his stuff. Quite an addictive Hook (4/5)

8.Im Sick Of You

This is surpose to be a secret diss towards Slim shady. He starts off by saying “All you ***** ass niggaz SHADY Muther*****ers” then subject matter is visious punches at him towards him being so depressed etc. If this is a diss than this a very sublimbal diss as he doesnt name mr shady once. Diss or not its dope. The beat is a dark yet uptempo beat. (5/5)

9.*****roaches

This is alright. The beat is standard drums but yet again the strange horn makes his appereance again at the intro and the middle. Then when Necro lays his verse the bass and drums gets faster and more aggrasive if that makes sense. Also Theres a spacey some distorted sound which i dont like that much and in the middle a sample is played and is Al Pacino Scarface. The Lyrics are about *****roaches. He flows nice (3.5/5)

10. ***** you to the Track

The horn is back. The beat is alright. Also guess what the lyrics are about. He flows nice. Not much except its good (4/5)

11.Burn The Groove To Death

This is alright. The bass is good like most of Necro songs and the drums are pretty standard.Occasional the spacey thing is one this. The lyrics are goodf like usual. He flows well. Not much excepts it above average. (3.5/5)

12. Underground

This is dope.Beat wise this is proberly my fave track. The sample feels like a 50’s type of thing. The beat is the most upbeat. The beat is drums and chimes(xylophone if im not wrong) and what i think is violens which are perfectly put together. The lyrics are upto his standards. he goes on for about 5 mins which is pretty impressive. no hook just one long verse which he flows really well.

13.STD

This beat is well simple and aint him. When Necro starts dropping a verse you think is this necro? He all nice and is talking romantic. he meet a girl and takes her home and when he starts ‘making love’ he turns into the aggressive Necro as she has a STD. This is a nice storytelling song. Again humour in hip hop on another level (4/5)

The last ones are Freestyles. There different types showing different skills. On 14 His showing he capable of doing a long one and even Mr Hyde drops a verse which i like better. !5 A Hilarous a consterversy freestyle about Christmas as he Jewish and mock everything about xmas. Very funny and clever. 16 shows he ability to flow to different tracks but they are off his own ones.

This album gets a 4.5 outta 5. It gets a overall 4 for the album but half a mark for originalitly.

Necro’s beats and lyrics are new and creavtive. One problem is he too offensive and most people will be offended but who gives a *****. Necro has a new personality. But his lyrics can bore you if you not a horrorcore fan. Necro so good im urged to buy anything by him or his company without hearing it.This Cd beat’s are hard to esplain so you’ll have to hear it to apperciate this review

Recommendation : BUY THIS!!!!! This is one of the best albums i heard in a while for hip-hop. If you are not ignorant as ***** then i recommend you try this. All of necro’s CD are tight and would recommend you buying any 3 but i wouldnt really go for Prefix for death as its trys to mix rock and hip hop which its does but theres one really bad song.

The Regime – All Out War Vol. 1

The Regime - All Out War Vol. 1Rating system 1-10

1. Intro

Its a few people declaring war, just an intro

2. Smoke A Lot

Some dude reporting some funny news, funny skit.

3. Here We Come – Poppa LQ, Yukmouth, Gonzoe

Great song to kick it off with my favourite track of the mixtape!!! The beat is simple the strings and the hardhitting bassline fit right along with a sick hook! The female/echovoice saying “REGIME MOB, HERE WE COME” is what makes this hook so tight. They all came tight as ***** on their verses too, what can i say this is just a certified banger!! 10/10

4. Blast 1st – Messy marv, Eastwood, Yukmouth, Gonzoe, Tha realest, Mac minister, Poppa lq

I like the beat on this one its a real war/hardhittin/soldiers marchin type of beat, really gets you hyped up for the verses. Its a tight line up of artists and everybody comes tight for this one, no weak verses on this song, no average verses either nuthing but heat! Yuk has the tightest flow of all on this one, i gotta say it again everyone comes very very tight on this track, but imo gonzoe has the best verse on this track. The hook done by Tha realest is just basically the same hook as the infamous “bomb first” song by pac and the lawz. I dont really like how tha realest trying to sound exactly like pac on the hook but…. hey i guess thats why they got him to do the hook. Mac minister dont rap he just speaking a few words at the end of the song. Yess another certified banger!! 10/10

5. Go Hard Or Go Home – Gonzoe feat. Dirt Left

This is Gonzoe’s disstrack to the game. And its tight as ***** the hook is on point the lyrics are on point ( “you from compton, but sound like new york. nigga thats like farrakhan eating pork”) Basically Gonzoe letting Game know he aint afraid and he ready to bring it, dont know who Dirt left is but he spits a coo verse nothing special tho. Hard disstrack another track that shows gonzoe is not to be slept on!. 9/10

6. 100 gunz – Yukmouth, Monsta Ganjah, Poppa LQ

This is obviously a remake of Ja Rule’s “New York” only with a westcoast twist reppin oakland, longbeach and south central LA. All three spit fire on the mic, but the regime general takes this one spitting a great verse! Ganjah spitting some crazy shit too and everytime i hear poppa lq i get fascinated by this dudes talent more and more, he has a great rapvoice and a very nice flow. This is a good remake even tho the hooks could be a lil better, they tight but they just sounded like they were too much of beat on the hook. 8/10

7. ***** u know i get it crunk – Lil Flip feat. Yukmouth

A nice laidback beat but the hook is a lil annoying cuz he repeats the same line over and over! Flips has the first and 3rd verse and he spit some nice verses dissing T.I. nothing too special tho. I always tought flip was an average mc and he has yet to prove me wrong. Yuk on the other hand does what he do best spit fire! This same track is also featured on a gang of southern and westcoast mixtapes and also on the “Kings of the south” album by flip and z-ro. The only difference is that on the “kings of the south” album they added a 4th verse by z-ro on too it. Basically a nice laidback southern type of track. 7/10

8. Im bigger then that – Poppa LQ

This obviously a poppa lq solo track, poppa lqs lyrics are on point but to be honest i dont really like the beat the hook is tight and clever but the beat just missing something if you ask me. Basically to wrap it up i would say poppa lq is bigger then this beat! But never the less poppa lq spitting tight lyrics so its all good. 7/10

9. Okay – Yukmouth, Monstah Ganjah, Yung Skrilla, Baby Jon

This a remake of the youngbloods “damn” and to be honest I didnt really like the concept of Yuk and crunk at first, but this song sounds pretty damn good! I been told Baby Jon is someone from germany but dude sounds just like lil Jon! Anyway he does the hook with yuk and makes it sound like a real lil jon hook. I gotta say i like this hook better then the original youngbloods hook. Yuk spits the best verse of the track, but ganjah and skrilla spitting some heat too. I never tought yuk would sound good on a crunk beat but this a BANGER!!! 10/10

10. Niggaz Tryna Ride On Me – Yukmouth, E-Blak, Poppa LQ, Monstah ganjah, Linole da wino

This is a remake of Young Buck’s “Shorty wanna ride with me”. Yuk dissing p on this one replying on p’s comments in murderdog and a recent subliminal diss song from TRU. E-blak does the hook and Monstah Ganjah and LQ spit tight verses as ussual. And linole da wino aka yuk talking at the end. 8.5/10

11. We dont stop – Gonzoe feat. Kurupt

Another one of my favourite songs of the mixtape its a lil out of place cuz its real laidback but i just love the southern cali/mexican type of beat. The hook is tight on some cool shit, and gonzoe spitting some hot shit again “You heard bo, nigga we take no ransom, we in the club gangbangin you in the club dancing”. Gotti also spitting a decent verse its still not the old kurupt but its an improvement from the kurupt everybody has been complaining about. I *****ing love this song. 10/10

12. Keep it thuggin – Yukmouth, Poppa LQ, Linole Da Wino

Hell yeah!! Another banger!! This beat sounds familiar to me i dont know if its a remake tho and if it is i dont kno from what song it is, anyway its a tight beat and yuk delivering a tight hook too. Poppa lq sending a lil message to game and imo he outshines yuk with his verse on this one. Anyway its a lil short cuz they both only spit one verse, linole da wino talking at the end. I would give it a 10/10, but just cuz its only 2 verses instead of 3 ill give it a 9/10, HOTSHIT tho. 9/10

13. Its Crucial – Yung Skrilla, Keak da Sneak, Bart

Very tight song! Nice laidback beat and i like the hook alot. Skrilla kicks it off with a nice verse i like dudes flow. I would say bart has the best verse he sends a lil warning towards game too , i also think Bart is underrated as *****, keak ends it with a good verse. Cant really say more about this track. Good laidback track. 10/10

14. World War 3 – Yukmouth

BANGER!!! Some dude from Sqad up (Lil Wayne’s old crew, Yung Skrilla’s click) begins this track off talking, just basically shouting out yuk and repping the regime click. This a str8 up all out war disstrack it has a simple beat but a nice hook tho. Yuk sending shots at The game, 50, P, the frontline and yess the afroman gets it too LOL. This track shows yuk can spit with the best of them and if you disagree then…………………………………………………………………………………………………..Thats just your opinion. Yepp another BANGER! 10/10

15. Bleed the block – Ampachino feat. Chino Nino

This is one of my favourites too, ampachino has a weird voice but you will get used to it after listening to him some more. Just listen to this track and tell me this dude dont have lyrics! Chino nino does the hook and does a good job. 10/10

16. Turn it up – Poppa LQ

This is another poppa LQ solo and i must say i liked the other lq solo more. Im not really feeling the hook on this one, they should just let the girls part be the hook, cuz im not feeling lqs part of the hook it just doesnt fit with the girl, but yet again lq spits heat, but like i said the hook ruins this track. 6.5/10

17. Regime Symphony – Yukmouth, Dru Down, Poppa LQ, Doracel, Yung Skrilla, Gonzoe

The beat is a lil funny its ok but it dont really fit the track imo. I like the concept tho, how they introduce everyone on the mic. Everybody comes tight but gonzoe has the tighest verse. Still a very tight track simply cuz everyone comes very correct on the mic. 9/10

18. Respect My Gangsta – Domination, Yukmouth, Marc Shyst.

This is another very tight cut, i love this beat! We all know domo can spit that heat, he delivers a tight verse and hook. Yuk spits a nice verse too not his best but an average yuk verse is still better then alot of other rappers best verses. I never heard marc shyst before except for his hook on game ova 2, but he spits a pretty nice verse here. I gues i will have to look out for him in the furure cuz the first verse i ever heard of him goes hard. I like his flow. 10/10

19. All Out War – Yukmouth

This not really a whole song cuz it dont have no hook. Its just Yuk spitting for 2 minutes str8 guerilla style. Yuk killing it! Dissing game, some ex regime members and even san quinn. This track shows why Yuk is one of the west best. 10/10

EndResult: 9/10

I know this just a mixtape but its just too hot for me not to review it. If this is just a mixtape then i wonder what we can expect from the Regime album. Anyway this mixtape in enuff for me to leave me fiending for the vol. 2 and the official “Regime Life” album. If you dont own this mixtape please do yourself a favour and slap yourself!

Alot of people think all the rappers on this mixtape are a part of the regime so to give you a better view these are all the official regime members without extended fam :

Ubnawkshis – The Tour Of Johnny Taurus

Ubnawkshis - The Tour Of Johnny Taurus1. The Tour Of Johnny Taurus

Deadbeatz produces a really great beat, it’s bouncy and has an eerie feel, I can’t really describe it, it’s very different but really good. Obnoxus raps well over this track, Ubnawkshis are a great group from Las Vegas, I consider them the “Pink Floyd Of Rap”, because they have a different sound, a very smart technical sound. The chorus consists of rough abrasive sounds and great singing. Obnoxus uses various multi’s and just rips the track. Great track. DOPE!

2. Crak The Kurtinz

Great beat by Brother Ben, has a folkish sound to it, nice guitars used. I dig the singing here, it’s very different but maintains that great sound. Obnoxus has a very abrasive flow here, really matches the beat, nice Beatles line Obnoxus delivers. The chorus consists of singing the chorus, simple but very good. Another great track. DOPE!

3, Medissin

Deadbeatz produces a bouncy track, has a trippy feel to it. Obnoxus’ flow here is insane, has an ODB vibe to it, very dope sounding. Great track. DOPE!

4. It’z Cold And I’m Alone

I like this track titles, they are a lot better than “Thug Walkin” or something equally stupid. I like the British type sounding on this track and a great piano beat to it. Short track but really different and great at the same time. Good

5. Gumdrop Gill O Teen

Great piano beat by Brother Ben & Deadbeatz. I dig the British vibe here and it even has some dope Willy Wonka movie samples. Obnoxus really shines here, great track. DOPE!

6. Dat B Me

Deadbeatz produces a happy sounding beat, sounds really good and matches Obnoxus’ abrasive flow, man this is different but really good. I like the voice samples throughout the track. Peep this track, one of my favorites on this album. DOPE1

7. Turn The Page

Very dark beat by Deadbeatz, has an eerie feel to it. Obnoxus of course rips it here, man these guys need a big record deal, they are much better than a lot of these corny sounding idiots all over TV. This is real music here not that fake Casio crap. Dope track! DOPE!

8. Sheengol Shangol

Brother Ben produces a really good beat, mixes Hip Hop with old 70’s Rock Music, very dope sounding. This is my favorite track on the album. Obnoxus raps about his anger, very dope, he sounds really good over this beat. HEAR THIS TRACK! DOPE!

9. The Only Thing I Could Write

Brother Ben produces a really fast paced beat here, and Obnoxus rapid spits on this track, really good track that would easily get anyone hyped. DOPE!

10. Rize Again

Great beat by Deadbeatz & Tim Carthen, has a great Hendrix 70-ish guitar vibe to it. Great singing by Tim Carthen. Obnoxus slows down his flow here and he does a really good job. Great way to end the album.

All in all this gets a DOPE! rating. No hyperbole here, this album is really good! Ubnawkshis once again make a great album, there is a reason why they’re called the “Pink Floyd Of Rap”. Go to www.Ubnawkshis.com and GET THIS ALBUM NOW!

Extended F@mm – Happy Fuck You Songs

Extended F@mm - Happy Fuck You SongsExtended F@mm is one of the most innovative groups around. On the top-notch underground QN5 record label, E-F@mm offers guaranteed quality. The group is made up of four spectacular, underrated MCs: Tonedeff, Pack FM, Session and Substantial. The group is a lyrical powerhouse. They make entire tracks filled with nothing but punchlines which make the listener hit the rewind button. This album is their debut EP. It is filled with comedy and outrageous tracks. It’s lyricism is simply amazing because all four MCs come above average all the time. Sometimes, the content seems to be in outerspace but the last verse always manages to bring the attention back. Attacking the mainstream, twisted introductions, awful cellphones; how can you not love it?

1. Intro

E-F@mm is introduced and the one and only Squijee is featured on it. It gets quite psychotic but it’s Squijee, what else could you expect?

2. The Evil That Pens Do

A great track. Each verse is perfect. It is lyrically spectacular. Tonedeff opens up the track with a superb spit and with the bar set extremely high; the other members of the group fail to disappoint. The track is a haughty one, proclaiming that each of the MCs are real battle rappers who have real skills over instrumentals they get dealt with. This track has a nice beat with a piano and drum mixture.

3. Line Drop

Amazing track; one of the best on the album. Full of wordplay and punchlines, E-F@mm comes up with one of their best tracks over a nice, simple, Tetris beat. As the mic gets passed around, each verse speeds up. This track is a notable one, extremely different from much of the rap around today.

4. FYIRB {***** You I Rhyme Better} (Remix)

An impressive track. This track simply is taking shots at all those mainstream rappers who lack skill. Each MC comes with fire as they relentlessly attack undeserving rappers. The track is laced with punchlines which standout. Each rapper rips the track but Substantial stands out with his last verse.

5. Pause

A great skit. It’s about the new spray from Old Spice. Its for modify of the awkward homosexual moments in conversations. A classic, hilarious skit.

6. Good Combination

This is more than a good combination. Pack FM and Tonedeff go back and forth on a hot, inventive beat. They keep naming combinations of things that go well together; just like these two talented MCs do. An extremely innovative track which shows the skills of both rappers.

7. Velocity

This song is straight fire, for the most part. On a dope beat, E-F@mm keeps speeding up. Tonedeff really shines on this track as his fast pace rapping is really the highlight of the track. Substantial is a real letdown on the track. He doesn’t fit in with the whole theme and next to Tone, he really isn’t keeping up. It’s still a tight track.

8. How U Doin’?

This track is centered around the phrase “how you doin’?” coined by ‘Friends’ The track is one of the weaker ones on the album. Each MC comes with a tight verse but listener attention spans may waver. The beat is a bit boring but all in all, it’s still a decent track.

9. Celly

Probably the best track on the album. This track is innovation at its finest. Its simply amazing. It’s basically each MC trying to have a conversation over their cellphones which are extremely distorted. This track is nothing less than a classic. It’s pure comedy presented by four top-notch MCs with pure skill.

10. Murder In The Verse Degree

Following the bewilderment in the cellphone conversation, Session goes solo. Over a tight beat provided by Tonedeff, Session spits extremely well. It was a slight surprise how good it was. He basically raps out a story with complete sentences instead of simply lines. A good track.

11. Pebble Jam

A great, hilarious skit. A simple parody of the popular Scribble Jam battle competition. It’s contains many jokes centered around George Bush and Bin Laden. The two battlers are EyeDubya (Eyedea) and Osama Jin Laden.

12. Obligatory Posse Cut featuring Breez Evahflowin, Deacon The Villian, GMS, Elite, Kameel-Yen, Squijee

This track is fantastic. Over a sizzling beat supplied by Tonedeff; each member of the posse spits 8 bars. This track features each of the artists complaining about how they had to spit on a useless track. This track is pure comedy. They freestyle their hatred for crew cuts. When your done listening, you’ll be sure to hit the back button to catch all the hilarious lines which you missed.

13. Fin

Squijees outro!!! How can this be short of a classic? His annoying voice raps up the album, and if you wait a bit, you can catch him breaking into a freestyle. A great way to wrap up a great album

The production on this album is splendid. It is for the most part solid and unwavering throughout. Most of the beats are supplied by Tonedeff who shows he isn’t skillful on the mic alone. The light beats seem to come together with the great lyrics for a fresh album which stands out.

This album is spectacular. It would take ages to list all of the hilarious lines which are peppered throughout this marvelous EP. But, this album isn’t all jokes. It also is filled with forceful lyrics. The production is dope on the album and all of the MCs on the album are never less than ill. Each of the core MCs bring their own flavor to the album which makes it dope.

Missin’ Linx – Exhibit A

Missin' Linx - Exhibit A1. What It Is

Necro produces the beat and it has a disco feel to it, very funky, really good beat. In case you haven’t heard of Missin Linx, they are Problemz, Al Tariq & Black Attack and they have done tracks with The Beatnuts, in fact Al Tariq used to be in the Beatnuts(He went by the name Fashion). Problemz shines on this track as he says the best line in the song(“Shit is off the Rick James”). Amazing track, everything was right here, from the beat(NECRO!) to the chorus, to the verses, to the flows. Great way to start off the EP. DOPE!

2. Ain’t Nothin

Adam 12 produces the beat and it’s ok, nothing really good or anything, in fact it’s pretty sloppy. Al Tariq is terrible on this track. Problemz tries to carry the track but this beat is a no go. Black Attack’s appearance is a little sloppy but overall he tries. This was an average track at best. Average

3. Hotness(Feat JuJu)

DJ EMZ produces the beat and it’s decent but I’ve heard this sound before, even on a Cash Money release. Black Attack starts it off with a good verse. JuJu does the chorus. Al Tariq with a pretty good verse. Problemz finishes it with a great verse, man Problemz has such a unique flow and has great wordplay. Good track although I wish JuJu had a verse. Good

4. Family Ties(Feat Freddie Foxxx)

FREDDIE FOXXX!!!!! Is featured on this track and gues what? ALCHEMIST produces the track! This track is DOPE! Great beat here, has an eerie sound to it. Al Tariq starts it off with a great verse. Black Attack with the next verse and it’s really good, Black Attack is another rapper who needs more respect. Freddie Foxxx does a great chorus. Problemz is up next with a really good verse. Al Tariq is next with another great verse. Black Attack is up next and spits another great verse, he’s shining on this track. Problemz is up next and again he spits a great verse, this track is insane. Foxxx ends it with words(He doesn’t rap on the track). What a great track, this needs to be heard. DOPE!

5. That’s That

DJ EMZ produces the beat and it’s good, not great or anything, it has a fast paced style to it. It’s hard to follow the last track but atleast this is a different style. Everyone comes tight. Good track. Good

6. M.I.A.

DOPE!!!! V.I.C. produces the beat and it’s the same as Dr. Dre’s “Next Episode” but with better rappers and better lyrics. Everyone rips this track. This has to be heard. DOPE!

All in all this gets a Good rating. This EP was slept on, and it should be heard. Missin’ Linx are a great trio. Cop it!

Canibus – 2000 B.C.

Canibus - 2000 B.C.Canibus – 2000 B.C.

01. The C-Quel

The album starts alright. The lyrics are good and the beats not too bad.Over the theme of S.W.A.T. canibus starts off with a weird idea with each end of each lines starts the next line blending in his lyrics. After a few minutes it gets back to normal and Canibus delivers some nice lyrics.
(Lyrics 4.5/5)(Beat 4/5)(overall 4/5)

02. 2000 B.C.

What else can i say about this song except DOPE!!!!!!. This is the title song of the album and My fave song on the CD.Ty Fyffe creates a dramatic war type feeling beat. He uses sirens and an opera lady singing background vocals to give this dramatic feel. The drums and bass goes with the siging very well. Canibus serves some dope lyrics. The chorus i feel is a little bit of a diss toward wyclef and his last and very dull album can-i-bus. He also spits “you mad at the last album, I apologize for it / Yo, I can’t call it, motherf**kin’ Wyclef spoiled it /”. The lyrics are his normal dope clever lyrics. And his normal dope flow. This goes with Canibus very well as his a battle rapper and was in the army.
(lyrics 5/5)(Beat(5/5)(overall 5/5)DOPE!!!!!!!

03. Life Liquid (feat. Journalist)

The Prodution is good and lyrics both clever and funny from both canibus and the journalist. Production is from The Beatnuts JuJu.This song is all the ways you can possibly torture or kill a man. It’s got clever Metaphors and wordplay. Also in Canibus’s first verse is about and takes the mickey out of gay’s and describes the stereotypicial gay.
(Lyrics 4.5/5)(Beat 3.5/5)(overall 4/5)

04 . Shock Therapy (skit)

This is a Hilarous skit.Even tho i dont normally like skits i like this one. its getting someone(producer) to admit he been using bits of other songs with a taser if you get the pun in the name.
(not rateable)

05. What Who U Beef Wit

Good beat and lyrics upto his standards. The hook is catchy. The beat has a piano from some song which i can’t remember but works. The track like Life liquid is about violent and watching who you have beef with and how you can be got anywhere.
(Lyrics 3.5/5)(Beat 4.5/5)(Overall 4/5)

06. I’ll Buss ‘Em You Punish ‘Em (feat.Rakim)

This song is another dope one. Not only is it featuring one of the dopest mc’s(Rakim) ever but the beat and lyrics are dope. Rakim and canibus being advance and dope mc’s they try their best to keep up and beat each other lyrics.Rakim outshines Canibus on this track and that hardly happens but with “Put my dick in your ear and ***** what you heard” Ra clearly outshines him. Their flows go really well with this track. The Hook is catchy as hell!
(lyrics 5/5)(beat5/5)(overall5/5) Dope!!!!

07. Mic-Nificent

The beat is alright on this and canibus keeps up with his normal standards but his flow really shines out for me on this. Aint really much to say on this.
(Lyrics 4/5)(Beat 3.5/5)(overall 3.5/5)

08. Die Slow (Feat. Journalist)

The Beat is alright on this one. the Lyrics are upto his standards like usual. This one is featuring Journalist again. He comes off good aswell.Their flows are good on thsi one aswell. The hook is catchy. This beat sound especially made for Cabibus flow.
(Lyrics 4/5)(Beat 3.5/5)(overall 3.5/5)

09. Doomsday News (feat. Panama P.I)

The beat is good. The lyrics are good as usual and his flow comes good on this.again like who you beef with i swear i know the guitar from.Parama delivers a good hook.
(Lyrics. 4.5/5)(Beat 4/5)(overall 4/5)

10. Lost @ ‘C’

I Can’t Beleive I’m about to say this about a Irv Gotti beat but i really like this. Like B.C. 2000(track 2) it feels really dramatic and a war feeling. The opera signing and the bell dongs give this a real eerie dramatic feel. The drums goes with all that and canibus flow. Canibus shows really skill with this song’s lyrics. The 3rd verse really impress me as he goes on about what i feel about certian rappers and hip-hop right now. The hook is catchy.
(Lyrics 5/5)(Beat 5/5)(Overall 5/5) dope !

11. Phuk u

I’m split on this song. I like it and it quite annoying.Lyrics his standards are Kept. His 2nd verse shows reall skill as the phuk’s from the background goes with lyrics e.g. “(phuk)n**ga which you nice than them/who offend coz u gotta fight till the end/if you (phuk) groupie chicken when you out on tour/smoke a little bit of weed and (phuk) her some more”
The beat sounds really energetic and quite kiddy but the hook is annoying as *****.
(Lyrics 4.5/5)(beat 3.5/5)(overall 4/5)

12. Horsemen (Featuring Pharoahe Monch)

Monch just spits a acapella freestyle describing the horsemen, Bis talks at the end…kinda sounds like a outro hook but I don’t’ know…I’m not going to rate this since it really is just an intro to the next song

13. Horsementality (Feat.The 4 Horsemen)

This another really good song. Not only is it featuring some of the most dopest mc’s(ras kass, kurupt, killa priest and canibus) but the beat is really good. Choas the producer creates a really uptempo beat which goes with the rapper delivery. each artist’s have their own style which really makes this a good song. Kurupt is my fave on this track.
(Lyrics 4.5/5)(Beat 4.5/5)(overall 4.5/5)

14. 100 Bars

This is one of Canibus most impressive songs. He spits 100 bars for about 5 mins without stopping showing his advance skills. His lyrics are really dope on this song. The beats is good and definaitly goes with canibus incrediable flow.No hook.
(Lyrics 5/5)(Beats 4.5/5) (4.5/5)

15. Chaos

Bis raps the first verse and hook acapella before the beat kicks in and blends in with canibus dope flow, Bis comes nice and shows his skills.,beat is alright hook is alright.alright way to end the album.
(Lyrics 4/5)(Beat 3.5/5)(overall 3.5/5)

Overall this album gets 4/5.

Buy this album but if you want his best buy rip the jacker(4.5/5) but stay away from Can-i-bus(2.5/5) and Whatever you do stay as far away from c true hollywood stories(1.5/5)as the production is weak as f**k but canibus lyrics are sharp as usual.Buy mic club(4/5) if you heard 2000 B.C. or rip the jacker Canibus shows incredible lyricial skill but repetition in his battle rap type songs and some bland production keep him from getting his props. His Flow is incredible and dope and so is his voice. Canibus has to evole a tiny part from his battle type of raps to be one of the best

C-Murder – TRUest Shit I Ever Said

C-Murder - TRUest Shit I Ever SaidAnother album from an incarcerated rapper, which can sometimes be good and sometimes be complete shit. C-Murder, facing a life sentence on a shady murder charge, managed to complete an entire album from behind bars. Unlike Shyne and Pimp C, this isn’t previously unreleased material mixed with an occasional verse from a phone. Because of this, the entire album is up to date and fresh. The sound quality is questionable, but the album is more or less decent. To the Review:

1) Intro:

When first hearing, if you know anything about rap at all, you will know that this is reminescent to 2Pac’s intro on ‘Me Against The World’. By that I mean, that it’s basically instrumental with evidence and news reports read about C’s current situation. The beat is perfect, and it opens up the album well.

2.) My Life:

Produced by KLC, this track isn’t what I thought it’d be. It could’ve been better, but the beat is on point and C spits about his current situation and how his life has played out.

3.) Skit:

A 15 second skit about being black.

4.) Stressin:

Also featured on the new TRU album, this is one of the better songs on the album. 2 verses from C, but both are extremely on point over a Bass Heavy produced joint. The only weak part of the song is the hook, but still doesn’t take away from what it is – a good track.

5.) Won’t Let Me Out feat. Akon:

Not anything new if you’ve heard the song ‘Locked Up’ by Akon ( which came out last September ), then you’re not really missing anything. C spits 3 short verses in quality that really sounds weak over the actual song. It would’ve been better if he didn’t sample Akon’s verse.

6.) Hustla’s Wife:

A Daniel Kartel produced song, which sounds a lot like his other work ( meaning its heavily influenced with guitar rifts ). Overall though, a decent song, that could’ve been better talking about hustla’s wives. The sound quality is noticabley better then the previous track.

7.) Holla @ Me feat. Soulja Slim:

Easily one of the best songs on the album, is another Daniel produced joint. Slim’s hook flows smoothly, and C spits 3 hard verses ( which is unheard of from him previously ). The only downfall is Slim is only on the hook, but never the less it’s still a good track. C shouts out Slim and his mama at the end.

8.) Skit # 2:

Another skit that’s basically filler, skip it.

9.) Yall Heard Of Me feat. B.G.:

The first single off the album, is an X Filez produced track featuring B.G. The beat, the verses, everything is smooth and on point. Despite people sayin C, sounds lazy on this track, his verse actually works the track well, followed by B.G. who steals the track. Overall, one of the best songs on the album.

10.) Betta Watch Me feat. Fiend, Popeye:

Former No Limit Soldiers – Fiend and Popeye reunite on this track, and it’s easily my favorite on the album. Fiend’s production is the closest to a BBTP sound that you will get, and Popeye and C rip the verses. One of the best tracks on the CD.

11.) Did U Hold It Down feat. Bass Heavy:

A laid back track dedicated to C’s girl, Bass is on the hook, and the song is smooth. The sound quality is probably the best on this track, and it stands out in a good way on the album.

12.) I Heard U Was Lookin For Me feat. Montez, Capone:

Another track with a BBTP type beat doesn’t dissapoint. C’s verse is the best here with lines like ‘In 2002, C-Murder died and later came alive/2005, Im saved and now Im back from the grave’. Capone from Queens and Montez from the ATL follow w/ hard verses.

13.) Back Up:

An XL produced joint, this song unfortunatley sounds weak. The beat isn’t great to begin with, but the flow over it sounds uninspired. It wouldn’t be that hard to flow over, but there is no improvement throughout the song. The album, almost completely playable all the way through, suffers from this song.

14.) Camoulflage and Murder feat. Mac, Curren$y:

This song was released not too long ago by Curren$y, who jumped on the original C/Mac collaboration. The beat is shaky at times, but the song doesn’t dissapoint and it’s good to hear C and Mac on another song, because they never dissapointed in the past.

15.) Started Small Time:

Another good track, the beat, the hook, and the verses don’t dissapoint. The sound quality ( along with Did U Hold It Down ) is the best on this track, and it doesn’t dissapoint.

16.) Mama How U Figure feat. Ms. Peaches:

This is my 2nd favorite joint from the album, and it’s gritty. This is the vibe that some of the album should’ve had all along. C spits about his case, and how he’s destined for pain.

17.) Outro:

45 second outro with the same beat as the Intro, with C shouting out fallen soldier – Soulja Slim at the end.

Overall, this album doesn’t dissapoint. When I first heard about this, I was skeptical because of sound quality and the fact that the ENTIRE album was being done while in prison. However, I’m glad I was wrong, because C delivers a solid album far better than C-P-3.com and Bossalinie. The lyrical game has stepped up completley with C spittin at 3 verses on at least half the songs. The production is flamez, and I’m glad the CD ended up dropping. Recommended to buy.

Overall: 4/5
